Status/Eligibility of membership
Members are divided into five (5) classes, such classification determined by both professional qualifications and residency.
a) Resident Active: Professional musicians of recognized standing (performers, composers, arrangers, etc.) who reside in New York City or within a radius of fifty (50) miles of New York City.
b) Resident Associate: Persons outside the musical profession who are interested in music and who reside in New York City or within a radius of fifty (50) miles of New York City.
c) Non-resident Active: Professional musicians of recognized standing who reside outside the 50-mile radius.
d) Non-resident Associate: Persons outside the musical profession who reside outside the 50-mile radius.
e) Student Members: A special new classification for student members.
